Eligibility Criteria for TEAM 2026 - Call for project proposals

Affiliation and statute of the promoters

1. Flemish promoter: a professor/specialist employed at a Flemish university or a professor/lecturer at a Flemish university of applied sciences and arts. Details on the eligibility requirements can be found in section ‘2.1 Eligibility of applicants: who can apply?’ of the call document.
2. Partner promoter: employed at a recognised higher education institution or national public (not for profit) research institute located in a VLIRUOS project partner country.

Additional criteria

1. Applicants (Flemish/partner) can submit a maximum of 2 TEAM projects in case they have no ongoing TEAM 2022, TEAM 2024 or SI 2025 project. Promoters of one of the previously mentioned projects can submit only 1 TEAM 2026 project, promoters of two projects of the same cannot submit. An exception exists for the involved staff in not selected IUC 2026 proposals.

Benefits of TEAM 2026 - Call for project proposals

Funding up to €300,000 for collaborative research projects, networking and capacity-building opportunities, and support for international teams from Flanders and partner countries.

How to Apply

As a general principle, support will be provided in a multi-stage process, in which applicants first contact the ICOS at the level of their institution or association. Where needed, the ICOS will cluster and forward the questions they cannot answer to VLIRUOS. VLIRUOS will provide a “Questions and Answers” section relating to the TEAMcall on its website.

In the case of this call, 1 general online information session about TEAM was organised on 4 November 2025, from 13:00 to 15:00 CET, focusing on the call info, formats, and guidelines. All relevant information is included in the call document and also provided on this page.
