UCAS Scholarship for International Students 2026

The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) has set up the UCAS Scholarship for International Students to sponsor young talents all over the world to pursue Master’s or Doctoral degrees, or attend courses, conduct research, or pay academic visits at UCAS colleges/CAS institutes. The Scholarship also encourages international graduate students currently studying at foreign universities to come to study in joint programs.

The scholarship consists of both a full scholarship and a partial scholarship. The full scholarship provides a tuition waiver, an application fee waiver, a monthly stipend, basic accommodation, and medical insurance; while the partial scholarship covers some items of the Full. The full scholarship is mainly sponsors Master’s and doctoral candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for UCAS Scholarship for International Students 2026

Eligible applicants must:

1. NOT hold Chinese citizenship, with a valid foreign passport, be friendly to China, and abide by the laws and decrees of China, and follow UCAS rules and regulations.
2. Be proficient in English or Chinese;
3. For PhD program applicants: be born after 1^st January 1991 (inclusive);
4. For Master's program applicants: be born after 1^st January 1996 (inclusive);
5. For Senior visiting students: be born after 1^st January 1981 (inclusive);
6. For Regular visiting students: be born after 1^st January 1986 (inclusive);
7. For joint program applicants: no age limitation.
8. Meet the admission criteria for international students of UCAS (please refer to the Calls for 2026 Programs for International Students).
9. NOT take up other assignments during the period of his/her scholarship.

Note:

1. If you are currently pursuing a master’s degree at any university/institution in China, you are NOT eligible for the master’s program of this scholarship. If you are currently pursuing a doctoral degree at any university/institution in China, you are NOT eligible for the PhD program of this scholarship. Otherwise, you will be disqualified from admission, and the situation will be reported to your current university/institution.
2. You are NOT allowed to apply for this scholarship with two supervisors simultaneously; otherwise, you will be disqualified from admission.

Benefits of UCAS Scholarship for International Students 2026

1. Full tuition waiver (RMB 30,000/year for Master’s; RMB 40,000/year for PhD)
2. Monthly stipend (RMB 3,000 for Master’s, RMB 3,500 for PhD)

Please log in to the Online Admission System for International Students at UCAS (here) and follow its instructions to finish all the required application procedures. File and submit your application in the system as requested before the deadline. Choose “UCAS Scholarship for International Students” in your application.
