The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology is now accepting online applications for the Spring 2026 intake.

The GIST Scholarship Korea is open to Master's, Leading to Ph.D., and Doctoral Degree programs. More importantly, GIST is one of the few universities in Asia that do not require application fees.

Eligibility Criteria for 2026 GIST Fully Funded Scholarship in Korea

To be considered for the GIST Scholarship, you must:

  1. Be a domestic or international student
  2. Hold a bachelor's degree
  3. Meet the English or Korean Language requirements of the university.

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents:

  1. Application Form
  2. Bachelor's Degree Transcript
  3. Recommendation Letters
  4. Applicant’s passport
  5. English Proficiency Tests score

Applicants may be permitted to apply for admission with an English Proficiency letter to the Institute and may be given conditional admission.


Benefits of 2026 GIST Fully Funded Scholarship in Korea

The GIST Scholarship covers ;

  1. Tuition fully supported: 3,607,000 won per semester
  2. Monthly stipend for all international students
  3. Student allowance: 140,000 won per month for M.S. students, 295,000 won per month for Ph.D. students
  4. Meal allowance: nearly 100,000 won per month
  5. ※Students should have completed at least 9 credits in the previous semester for the above two.
  6. International student allowance: 120,000 won per month
  7. Research Stipend for students participating in research projects
  8. 6,400,000 won per year of M.S.
  9. 13,740,000 won per year of Ph.D.
  10. Housing (All Students)
  11. Health Insurance (All International Students)
  12. Annual medical checkup
  13. Flight Reimbursement (All Incoming International Students)

  1. Proceed to the online application portal
  2. Choose your field of study and complete all relevant sections of the online application form.
  3. A notification of results will be sent to the email address provided on or around October 2nd, 2025, for Spring 2026 admission.
