The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme, launched by the Hungarian Government in 2013, provides international students with the opportunity to pursue higher education in Hungary. Eligibility Criteria for 2026 The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship in Hungary

1. Must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
2. Must be an international student from an eligible sending partner country.
3. Available for bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, doctoral, and non-degree preparatory courses.
4. Applicants must be nominated by the responsible authorities of their Sending Partner.

Benefits of 2026 The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship in Hungary

2. Monthly Stipend:
3. Non-degree, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and One-tier Master’s – HUF 43,700 (approx. €110) per month.

5. Free dormitory space or HUF 40,000/month (approx. €100) contribution.

7. Full healthcare coverage under Hungarian law plus supplementary insurance up to HUF 65,000 (€165) per year.

1. The available study programmes and host institutions are accessible through the online application system (https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/). Please note that you can only apply for these study programmes within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme.
2. Applicants are to apply only for those scholarship types and study fields that are determined in the educational cooperation programmes in effect between Hungary and the specific Sending Partner. Please see the full list of available study fields regarding your sending country/territory here: https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/partners/
3. In addition to the first choice of study programme, there is an opportunity to apply for an additional, second study programme. Therefore, each applicant can apply for up to TWO different study programmes in order of preference. These two study programmes can be at the same Host Institution or different Host Institutions; it is the applicants’ decision.
