African Food Changemakers (AFC) is a pan-African platform that empowers agrifood entrepreneurs across the continent by providing them with access to knowledge, networks, capital, and market opportunities. Formerly known as Nourishing Africa, AFC works to create a vibrant ecosystem that supports innovation and sustainable transformation within Africa’s food systems. Through scholarships, grants, training programs, and collaborative initiatives, the organization helps emerging and established agripreneurs scale their impact and drive inclusive growth across the agricultural value chain.

Eligibility Criteria for AFC 2025 Building Resilience Against Climate and Environmental Shocks (BRACE) Program

  1. 18–40 years
  2. A citizen of an African country
  3. A registered business in Africa
  4. AgriSMEs owner/representative/decision maker operating in Crop Production, and/or Animal Production Sector as either Producer, Processor, Marketer, Aggregators, etc.
  5. Participants are expected to:

    1. Attend all the weekly live interactive sessions scheduled for Thursday or Friday evenings across African time zones.
    2. Complete the self-paced online modules in 6 weeks.
    3. Submit all online course assignments and tasks
    4. Spend a minimum of four (4) hours per week completing the modules and assignments.

  1. Deployment of a diagnostic tool to assess participants' level of awareness regarding the impact of climate change on their agribusinesses, familiarity with, and readiness to deploy existing local solutions in the landscape
  2. A self-paced six (6)-week online learning program with a relevant and practical climate curriculum
  3. Hands-on practical assignments that cumulatively result in the ‘greening’ of participants’ agribusinesses to better position them to leverage climate financing opportunities in the ecosystem
  4. Engagement in peer-to-peer learning, networking, experience sharing, group discussions, assignments, and co-creation of solutions.
  5. Access to industry experts, trainers, and agripreneurs via live interactive and mentoring sessions.
  6. Provision of information, resources, and tools to enable investments and decisions that lead to sustainable climate solutions.
  7. Opportunity to join the AFC hub community for additional resources, data, funding support, and market linkages to enhance business visibility, profitability, growth, and success.
