Affiliation scholarships are based on merit, such as academic achievement, community involvement, or leadership, and require that students be connected to a specific group, such as:

Eligibility Criteria for Affiliation scholarships at University of British Columbia 2025

You must meet all the following requirements to apply:

UBC Vancouver Campus students

  1. You must have been registered in at least 24 percentage-graded credits in the prior Winter Session.
  2. You must be registered in at least 24 percentage-graded credits in the upcoming Winter Session.
  3. You must have an average of at least 75% with no failed or incomplete courses.
  4. You must meet the terms for awards eligibility set out in UBC’s Regulations Governing University Awards.
  5. Incoming first-year Post-secondary students will be reviewed based on their high school transcript submitted to UBC Undergraduate Admissions.

Courses in Pass/Fail or Credit/D/Fail format are not taken into account, except Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses.

UBC Okanagan Campus students

  1. You must have been registered in at least 24 percentage-graded credits in the prior Winter Session.
  2. You must be registered in at least 24 percentage-graded credits in the upcoming Winter Session.
  3. You must have an average of at least 75% with no failed or incomplete courses.
  4. You must meet the terms for awards eligibility set out in UBC Okanagan Campus Minimum Scholarship Course Load Requirements.
  5. Incoming first-year Post-secondary students will be reviewed based on their high school transcript submitted to UBC Undergraduate Admissions.

Courses in Pass/Fail or Credit/D/Fail format are not considered, except Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses.

Non-UBC Post-secondary students

  1. You must have been registered in at least 24 percentage-graded credits for your program during the previous academic year between September and April.
  2. You must be registered in at least 24 percentage-graded credits at your institution during the upcoming academic year between September and April.
  3. You must have an average of at least 75% with no failed or incomplete courses.
  4. You must provide an official transcript showing your academic records for the 2024/25 academic year as well as proof of registration for the upcoming 2025/26 academic year.
  5. First-year post-secondary students must also upload their official high school record showing proof of high school graduation and final grades for Grade 11 and 12.

Courses in Pass/Fail or Credit/D/Fail format are not considered.

Some awards have additional eligibility requirements or are only open to students attending a specific campus or post-secondary institution.
