Deakin University Women PhD Scholarship in Australia 2026

This is a fully funded PhD scholarship at Deakin University focused on anti-doping practices among women, particularly exploring the role of support personnel and socio-cultural influences on female athletes’ use of performance and image enhancing drugs (PIEDs).

The project is co-designed with national anti-doping and sporting organizations and is funded by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Eligibility Criteria for Deakin University Women PhD Scholarship in Australia 2026

  1. Domestic students (Australian citizens, Australian PRs, or New Zealand citizens)
  2. International students
  3. Must meet Deakin University’s PhD entry requirements
  4. Must hold a first-class Honours degree or a Master’s with a strong research component
  5. Must be willing to enrol full-time
  6. Selection is based on

    1. Academic qualifications and research background
    2. Alignment with the project’s focus
    3. Relevant work or research experience
    4. Quality of the CV and cover letter
    5. Potential contribution to the research team


Benefits of Deakin University Women PhD Scholarship in Australia 2026

  1. AUD $35,550 per year (tax-exempt stipend for 3 years)
  2. Relocation allowance: AUD $500 (single) to $1,500 (family)
  3. International students:
  4. Full tuition fee waiver for 4 years
  5. Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of the visa
