The GREAT Scholarships 2026 are offered by Cardiff University in collaboration with the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign and the British Council. Six awards of £10,000 each are available for students from France, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Pakistan, and Spain who hold an offer for a one-year postgraduate programme for the 2026/27 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria for GREAT Scholarships 2026 for International Students at Cardiff University

  1. Students from France, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Pakistan and Spain who will enrol on a one-year postgraduate programme in the 2026/27 academic year are invited to apply for a GREAT scholarship, offering £10,000 towards tuition fees.

How to Apply

Apply to Cardiff University for a master's degree.

To apply, you must be holding an offer to study at Cardiff University.

Eligible offer holders will be sent a link to the application form.

As part of your application, you will be required to answer the questions below with a maximum of 200 words each per topic:

  1. What are your reasons for wanting to study at Cardiff University in your chosen programme of study?
  2. Describe a significant achievement in your student life or in your working career to date, and explain the impact it had on other people or the organisation.
  3. How would you help spread the word about Cardiff University as a study destination?
  4. Describe your career objectives beyond the course you have applied to, indicating the type of role you would like to occupy in five years and how the course you are interested in studying can help you in achieving these objectives.

Any text over the word allowance will not be considered.
