Eligibility Criteria for Leadership and Engagement Scholarship (BLE) 2026

1. At the time of application, a new application for admission to a regular undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program (bachelor's, master's, or doctoral) at Université Laval for the winter , summer , or fall semester of 2026 must have been submitted . This application must have been processed and the admission fees must have been paid.
2. To be exceptionally involved and to distinguish oneself through leadership in one or more artistic, entrepreneurial, environmental, scientific, social/humanitarian, or sporting activities .
3. Maintain full-time student status (or be deemed full-time according to the Financial Assistance for Studies , or have the status of parent student ** ) at Laval University throughout the program of study for which the scholarship was awarded (fall and winter sessions).

** If you are recognized as a student parent and are enrolled part-time (between 6 and 11 credits), you may be eligible for this competition. To this end, it is your responsibility to complete the necessary steps with the Registrar's Office by filling out the form and submitting the required documents. Please note that processing this application takes approximately 7 business days .

Selection criteria

1. Leadership: leadership qualities, initiative, perseverance, research potential (scientific), motivation within his group, sense of responsibility and commitment, inspiring role model for his peers, etc.
2. Commitment and involvement: volunteer activities, time given to an organization / project / association, recent, long-term and/or recurring commitment, enthusiasm, potential to continue the commitment, etc.

Eligibility for RENEWAL

These scholarships are renewable annually for the official duration of the initial program of study, subject to the conditions below. Recipients will receive an email in the winter of each eligible year containing a link to the online renewal form, which they must complete and submit before the indicated deadline. Contact information for a designated contact person will be required for information verification purposes, but this person will not be required to complete a form.

To remain eligible for this scholarship, recipients must:

1. Provide proof of continued commitment (in the renewal form);
2. Maintain full-time student status (or be deemed full-time according to the AFE , or have parent student status and be pursuing between 6 and 11 credits) at Université Laval in the program of study (or in the same cycle of study ) for which the scholarship was awarded (fall and winter sessions);
3. Maintain a minimum program average of 2.00 in the first cycle, or 2.67 in the higher cycles (out of 4.33);
4. Commit to participating in recognition activities related to the program (ceremony, meeting with donors, testimonial, thank you letter, etc.).

Submission of the file

You must complete the online form. Documents submitted by email will not be considered.

IDENTIFICATION / SUBMISSION : To submit your application, you must authenticate yourself using the personal identification information you received, or will receive, from the Registrar's Office when creating your application file at Université Laval. NOTE : If your application has already been submitted to the Registrar's Office for more than 48 hours, and you have access to the scholarship application form but your application does not appear in the drop-down menu, please notify us by email as soon as possible, well before the application deadline, at: engagement@bbaf.ulaval.ca

RESPONDENT : In the appropriate section of the online form, you will need to identify the name of a person who will act as your respondent. This person can be a professor, employer, supervisor, coach, etc., and does not necessarily have to be affiliated with Université Laval. They can reside in Quebec, Canada, or abroad. Family members, friends, or roommates of the applicant are not eligible . Your respondent must be familiar with your involvement, leadership qualities, and background to be able to provide a testimonial. For confidentiality reasons, the designated person will automatically receive a secure link to complete their online section. Please ensure that you correctly enter their email address in the designated field.

Your referee must also submit their recommendation before the deadline . They must have internet access and be able to use the form in French or English. It is your responsibility to ensure they receive the email, have sufficient time to complete it, and submit it by the deadline. Please note that this person may decline your request for support; in that case, you will need to identify another referee. Applications without a recommendation submitted after the deadline will be rejected. You will be notified by automated email when your referee has submitted their form and your application is considered complete.

TRANSCRIPT OF ACADEMIC YEAR : You must scan your transcript and save it as a single PDF file. To be considered, the transcript must be in French or English (or translated into one of these two languages), must include a numerical program or year average, and must be of sufficient visual quality to allow for reading. CAPSULE versions are accepted only for transcripts issued by Université Laval.

1. For admission to the bachelor's program : Only your college (or pre-university) transcript showing all years will be accepted and considered. Student copies (unofficial) of transcripts from colleges are also accepted.
2. For admission to the Master's program: Only your Bachelor's (first cycle university) transcript, including all years, will be accepted and considered.
3. For admission to the doctoral program : Only your master 's degree transcript (2nd cycle university), including all years, will be accepted and considered.

Benefits of Leadership and Engagement Scholarship (BLE) 2026

1. Several scholarships of $6,000 (Undergraduate level: Payment of $1,000 per session, up to a maximum of 6 or 8 sessions. Depending on the official program duration of 3 or 4 years, $6,000 or $8,000.)
2. Several scholarships of $10,000 (Master's level: Payment of $2,500 per session, up to a maximum of 4 sessions.)
3. Several scholarships of $30,000 (3rd cycle: Payment of $5,000 per session, up to a maximum of 6 sessions.)
