This scholarship supports Māori students who are entering their first year of undergraduate study and who show strong leadership and engagement in their whānau, hapū, marae or community.​

Eligibility Criteria for Lincoln University Tihi Kahuraki Scholarship 2025

  1. For Māori only
  2. New to Lincoln
  3. Available to New Zealand citizens or Permanent Resident Students.

Benefits of Lincoln University Tihi Kahuraki Scholarship 2025

  1. Up to $25,000 per year to contribute towards on-campus accommodation costs and tuition fees for three years of study.

How to Apply

Applicants must have demonstrated leadership potential in the Māori community.

You will need to submit:

  1. A two-minute video demonstrating your involvement in whānau, hapū or community activities
  2. A list outlining your leadership in projects (mahika kai, marae, hapū, whenua, kapa haka, te reo or mana korero) environmental or other culturally significant activities
  3. Two references (one character reference and one academic reference).
