The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) is pleased to announce the 2025 scholarship program for female undergraduates in Nigerian universities. The scholarship aims to support the education of young women by offering financial assistance to help alleviate the cost of their studies. The scholarship offers a total of $300 for the winner and additional prizes for the runners-up.

Eligibility Criteria for Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) Scholarship 2025

Also, the eligibility criteria include:

  1. Open to female undergraduate students in Nigeria.
  2. Applicants must not be in their final year of study.
  3. Applicants must provide proof of state of origin.

How are applicants selected?

Applicants will be assessed based on

  1. The completeness and accuracy of their submitted documents.
  2. The quality of their essay on:
  3. “Analyze how technology can be leveraged to address gender-based violence (GBV) in Nigeria, including facilitating reporting, access to services, and creating safe spaces for survivors. Evaluate current interventions and propose innovative solutions for ensuring timely and effective assistance for GBV survivors.”
  4. The level of financial need and academic merit.

Applicants must submit:

  1. Proof of State of Origin – A letter from the university or a local government office.
  2. Two letters of recommendation from any of the following:
  3. Pastor or Imam
  4. Village Head
  5. Local Government Chairperson
  6. University Lecturer or Head of Department
  7. One additional letter of recommendation from the Dean of Faculty or School Head.
  8. Departmental proof of enrollment (e.g., letter or document).
  9. Photocopy of current student identification card.
  10. A recent passport-sized photograph.
  11. A short explanation (not exceeding half a page) on why they need the scholarship.
  12. A two-page, double-spaced, typewritten essay on the given topic.


Benefits of Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) Scholarship 2025

  1. $300 for each selected winner.
  2. $150 for the first runner-up in each state.
  3. $100 for the second runner-up in each state.
  4. Funds will be awarded in Naira equivalent.
