A fully funded 3.5-year PhD opportunity at the University of Sussex under the supervision of Prof Peter Fussey. The project focuses on identifying new sustainable energy vectors to replace fossil fuels using computational chemistry, FPGA programming and machine learning.

The research includes:

  1. Phase 1: Structure generation & property assessment using graph theory + HDL FPGA programming in Matlab/Simulink
  2. Phase 2: Machine learning-assisted prediction & high-level quantum chemical simulations

Ideal for candidates with strong backgrounds in Engineering, Physics, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.
