Research Nova Scotia Public Impact Award 2025

The recipient is someone who has dedicated their research to responding to the needs of society. They are solving a problem, managing a risk, or creating an opportunity for Nova Scotians. Nominees can come from academia, a public research institution, government, or the private sector and do not have to have held Research Nova Scotia funding. The 2025 Public Impact Award will be presented at the 23rd Annual Discovery Awards.
Eligibility Criteria for Research Nova Scotia Public Impact Award 2025
- Nominee is a Nova Scotian researcher in academia, a public research institution, government, or the private sector
- Must be able to clearly demonstrate how their research has directly and intentionally benefited Nova Scotians. From the original objective of the work, to the partnerships formed to conduct the research to the impact it has had in the province.
- The Nominee should clearly articulate the implementation mechanisms (i.e., policy implementation and/or industry, health system, or not-for-profit uptake)
NOTE: Previous or current Research Nova Scotia funding is not required.
Benefits of Research Nova Scotia Public Impact Award 2025
- The winner will receive an award of recognition.
How to Apply
Nominations for the Public Impact Award will be managed through Research Nova Scotia's grant management platform, JURA. Click on the link to the application website to nominate an individual. Nominations close on May 15, 2025, at 1 p.m. (AST).
