The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme is a merit-based initiative aimed at supporting high-achieving Nigerian students in public tertiary institutions across the country. By providing financial assistance and academic encouragement, the programme fosters educational excellence and contributes to national development.

NLNG invites applications from eligible first-year undergraduates (2025/2026 academic year) for the 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS). The UGSS is aimed at supporting exceptional students at Nigerian universities to excel academically and contribute to the advancement of the nation.

Eligibility Criteria for 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship (UGSS)

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and currently residing in the country.
  2. Be a full-time first-year undergraduate student in the 2025/2026 academic session at a federal or state-owned university in Nigeria.
  3. Have obtained a minimum of five O'Level credits, including Mathematics and English, in one sitting (WASC, SSCE, or NECO).
  4. Have scored a minimum of 200 in the JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  5. Aged between 18 and 25 years at the time of application.
  6. Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant from any organisation.
  7. Must not be a spouse, child, ward, or direct relation of an NLNG staff.

Documents Required for Application

  1. Upload a recent passport photo (no glasses)
  2. Copies of WAEC/NECO/SSCE
  3. JAMB UTME results
  4. JAMB Admission Letter
  5. LGA Identification, and Birth Certificate.


Benefits of 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship (UGSS)

The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship recipients will receive a sum of N300,000 for an academic year and it runs throughout the duration of the student’s course.
