Binghamton University offers a highly selective and competitive range of scholarships to exceptional incoming undergraduate students. Thanks to a newly endowed $25 million gift from an anonymous family, the university will now award scholarships to 25 new students each year until reaching a total of 100 scholarships in steady state. These scholarships are based on academic merit, donor preferences, majors, program participation, and often financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Scholarship awards include both partial and full in-state cost of attendance funding, and recipients must maintain a specified GPA throughout their four years of study.

The eligibility criteria include

  1. Open to incoming first-year undergraduate students.
  2. All undergraduate applicants are automatically considered.
  3. Must enroll full-time and maintain a minimum GPA specified for the scholarship.

How are Applicants Selected?

  1. Selection is competitive and highly selective, similar to the caliber of Binghamton’s student body.
  2. Criteria include academic merit, financial need (via FAFSA), donor preferences, chosen major, and program participation.
  3. A campus committee selects the scholarship recipients.
  4. If a recipient becomes ineligible due to GPA, a new student in the same class year may be selected to receive the funds.


Benefits of Study in USA with Full Tuition Waiver: Binghamton University Offers $30,000/Year for International Students

The scholarship benefits include:

  1. Twenty students: $10,000 per year for up to four years.
  2. Five students: up to the in-state full cost of attendance (approximately $30,000 per year) for up to four years.
  3. Students may also be awarded President’s, Provost’s, or Dean’s Scholarships, with variable amounts.

How to Apply

There is no separate application. All incoming undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for available scholarships upon admission.
