University of Glasgow 2025 Sanctuary Scholarships for International Students

The University of Glasgow is offering up to 30 Sanctuary Scholarships for applicants to the University, who have been forced to travel to the UK for humanitarian reasons and are facing challenges in progressing onto Higher Education. The scholarship is open to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate taught students at the University of Glasgow applying for entry in September 2025/26. Please note that you must have applied to the University before submitting an application for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Glasgow 2025 Sanctuary Scholarships for International Students

1. Hold a firm conditional or unconditional offer for full time study at the University of Glasgow for 2025/26
2. Have submitted a claim for asylum in the UK OR are actively appealing a negative decision on a claim for asylum in the UK OR have been granted refugee status, humanitarian protection (HP) or discretionary leave (DL) by the Home Office as a result of an asylum claim.

Have come to the UK through schemes such as:

1. UK Resettlement Scheme (UKRS)
2. Afghan citizens Resettlement Scheme
3. Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP)
4. Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS)
5. Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine)
6. Ukraine Family Scheme

Benefits of University of Glasgow 2025 Sanctuary Scholarships for International Students

1. Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of study, where you are not eligible to apply for mainstream student finance to cover full tuition fees
2. £5,000 per year towards for study costs
3. University of Glasgow accommodation for the duration of study, if eligible. (For those with no access to public funds only)

Submitting a scholarship application without a programme offer will render your application invalid.

The application deadline is 11:00 pm on 1st May 2025. No applications will be accepted after this date.
