The Medivet Veterinary Student Success Scholarship is awarded annually to one student studying our Bachelor Veterinary Medicine & Surgery (BVMS) degree who may experience significant financial hardship as a result of their study; and/or has faced significant adversity on their route to studying at university.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Lancashire Medivet Veterinary Student Success Scholarship 2025

In order to be considered for the scholarship, you must be applying to join the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and surgery (BVMS) course and meet at least some of the criteria listed below:

You can demonstrate that you will face significant financial hardship during the BVMS programme or as a result of your studies.

You can demonstrate you have faced significant adversity on your journey to becoming a BVMS student, e.g., financial, personal, or circumstantial factors.

At the time of application for the BVMS programme you meet some contextual criteria as listed below:

1. Are care care-experienced or a care leaver
2. Have you received free school meals during your secondary education
3. You are the first in your family to attend Higher Education
4. You come from a military family, e.g., service child, service spouse, service leaver
5. You are a member of the Roma, gypsy or travelling communities
6. You are a refugee

As part of the written application, you will also need to detail:

1. How do you currently intend to pay your tuition fees
2. If you have received a maintenance loan
3. If you have any other sources of income, funding, or support
4. Your accommodation arrangements during your study
5. Any caring responsibility or dependent

Benefits of University of Lancashire Medivet Veterinary Student Success Scholarship 2025

1. Full tuition fee will be waived per year for the duration of the five-year course.

How to Apply

To apply for this scholarship, you must be joining our Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVMS) course and have submitted a contextual admissions application*. Upon successfully gaining a place on the BVMS course, you will be invited to submit a written application in order to be considered for the scholarship. Our committee will then review all applications and decide on the successful student to be awarded the scholarship. The scholarship is normally awarded prior to the start of semester one of the first year of study.

*Some students who do not submit a contextual admissions application may be identified as being able to apply for the scholarship via their UCAS application and invited to apply.
