Airtel Africa Fellowship Program 2025 for Undergraduate

The Airtel Africa Foundation has launched the Airtel Africa Tech Fellowship 2025 to support young Nigerians from disadvantaged backgrounds who secure admission into tech-related undergraduate programs. The fellowship aims to increase the number of African youth with advanced technology skills and shape the next generation of tech leaders on the continent.

The program is open to students admitted into tech, science, and engineering programs at any of the seven selected Nigerian public universities:

– University of Lagos (UNILAG)

– University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN)

– Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)

– University of Benin (UNIBEN)

– Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)

– University of Ilorin (UNILORIN)

– Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)

The fellowship provides full support for the entire duration of study (4–5 years) in eligible programs.

Eligibility Criteria for Airtel Africa Fellowship Program 2025 for Undergraduate

The eligibility criteria for this Fellowship are as follows:

1. The Fellowship will only apply to students admitted into any one of the 7 participating public universities.
2. The Foundation will consider gender diversity as part of the selection criteria.
3. The candidate shall not be a recipient of any other fellowship/scholarship/grant for the same purposes as being supported by Airtel Africa Foundation.
4. Only new entrants shall be eligible. (100 level)
5. The Candidate must demonstrate financial need to be eligible for the program
6. Scored a minimum of 230 in JAMB
7. Possess 5 credits, including English and mathematics, in one sitting.
8. Applicants must have JAMB results and an admission letter, a School ID card, & WAEC certificate/result to be shortlisted.

Eligible Courses

Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Technology, Data Science, Software engineering, Library and Information Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Telecommunication Engineering, and other tech or ICT-related fields.

Documents Required for Application

Applicants should upload scanned copies of the following as part of the application:

1. Recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant in JPEG format, not more than 200kilobytes;
2. University Admission Letter;
3. Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) Result;
4. O' Level Result(s); and 'A' Level /OND /NCE Result(s) as applicable;
