MS Social Dimensions of Post-Wildfire Reforestation

The Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Ecology and the JTH Forestry Research Center at New Mexico State University invites applications for a Master of Science (MS) position to assess the social dimensions of post-wildfire reforestation in the southwestern US. The student will address questions related to land manager perceptions of and participation in post-wildfire reforestation projects and evaluation of the social outcomes of post-wildfire reforestation projects.

Eligibility Criteria for MS Social Dimensions of Post-Wildfire Reforestation

  1. Bachelor’s degree in natural or social sciences
  2. Experience with stakeholders or communities in natural resources
  3. Preferably experience with wildfire or forest management in the US
  4. Strong written and oral communication skills
  5. Organizational and time-management ability
  6. Able to work independently
