RCSI 2025 Aim High Dentistry Access Scholarship

The Aim High Access Scholarships were established in 2012 by RCSI Alumni to provide financial support for Irish Leaving Certificate Examination students who excel academically and are passionate about developing lifelong careers in the health sciences.

The Aim High Dentistry Access Scholarship is offered to a student who is eligible to apply via CAO and the Higher Education Access Route (Opens in new windowHEAR Scheme), entering RCSI's Bachelor of Dental Surgery (RC007).

Eligibility Criteria for RCSI 2025 Aim High Dentistry Access Scholarship

Aim High applicants must:

1. Be eligible for admission to RCSI's Dentistry programme through the Opens in new windowCAO (course code: RC007).
2. Be eligible and apply for Opens in new windowHEAR, and indicate in their CAO application that they wish to apply via the HEAR scheme.
3. Submit a CAO application listing Bachelor of Dental Surgery (RC007) as a course choice.
4. Have resided in Ireland for at least three of the past five years preceding admission.
5. Present a minimum of six recognised subjects (2 x H4 and 4 x O6/H7) in the Irish Leaving Certificate, to include Irish (unless Opens in new windowexempt), English, Mathematics, a third language, Chemistry and either Biology or Physics.
6. Present a minimum H4 in Chemistry and an H4 in either Physics or Biology.
7. Provide a personal statement as part of your application, detailing your motivation and commitment to study at RCSI and pursue a career as a healthcare professional.
8. Arrange an academic referee (Guidance Counsellor, Teacher or School Principal) complete the Aim High Dentistry Access Scholarship Confidential Academic Reference Form in advance of the closing date of 1 July.
9. Complete the online Aim High Dentistry Access Scholarship Application Form by the closing date of 1 July. Early application is encouraged.

Benefits of RCSI 2025 Aim High Dentistry Access Scholarship

In addition to the normal supports provided through the Government Free Fees Initiative and SUSI Grant, the Aim High Dentistry Access Scholarship offers additional financial support of €25,000, in total, for the duration of the student’s undergraduate programme.

The objective of the scholarship is to lessen the financial burden of attending University and allow students to fully focus on their academic coursework.
