The Salters’ Fellowship for UK Chemistry Graduates (2025/26)

The Salters’ Fellowship is comprised of a generous donation by the Worshipful Company of Salters, match funded by the University of Liverpool School of Physical Sciences.

The award is a £10,000 contribution to tuition fees, available for one student in the 2025/26 academic year.

The successful student will also receive support from the Worshipful Company of Salters throughout their studies and beyond, to help them gain their desired employment upon graduation from their postgraduate studies and with their subsequent career development.

You can combine this scholarship with other applicable University of Liverpool widening participation bursaries.

Eligibility Criteria for The Salters’ Fellowship for UK Chemistry Graduates (2025/26)

Applicants must:

  1. Be permanently resident in the UK and assessed as a Home student
  2. Hold an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  3. Have accepted an offer for a one-year taught Master’s at the University of Liverpool
  4. Be applying for their first postgraduate degree
  5. Have applied for a Postgraduate Master’s Loan (Student Finance England or equivalent)
  6. Come from a widening participation background, such as:
  7. Access scheme participant (e.g., Liverpool Scholars, Pathways to Law, etc.)
  8. Free school meals / bursary entitlement
  9. Care-experienced, refugee, carer, or estranged student
  10. First-generation university student

    Applications are reviewed by a joint panel, and results will be announced in November 2025.
