The Erasmus Mundus Master Degree in International Law of Security, Peace and Sustainable Development (ILSPSD) offers you the unique opportunity to study across six partners over two years and gain a joint, double or multiple Master's degree, depending on the combination of three degree-awarding partners. It is recognized by the European Commission as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree (EMJMD).

Eligibility Criteria for Masters in International Law by Erasmus Mundus 2026

  1. In order to enrol in the ILSPSD, applicants need to have successfully completed an undergraduate degree (a minimum of 180 ECTS – within the European Higher Education Area – or its equivalent) from a fully accredited institution of higher education (within or outside the EHEA), provided that this undergraduate degree grants access to master’s level studies in the country in which the undergraduate degree diploma was issued.
  2. By completing a course, seminar, or module, you get awarded ECTS credit points. Every ECTS credit point represents the amount of workload you accomplished in that period of time. Each ECTS credit represents 25 study hours.
  3. If you have completed your courses outside the ECTS area, your workload must be converted. You need to ask your degree-awarding institution for a written statement of the working hours needed for accomplishing each of your (law) courses. When applying, please upload this statement and your conversion calculations together with your degree certificate and transcript of records
  4. If you haven’t completed your undergraduate degree by the time of your application but will do so within the year of the intake, you can be admitted conditionally.
  5. Selection Process

    1. The Scholarship Selection Committee of the ILSPSD Consortium assesses each application according to the following criteria:
    2. Academic merit – 50%
    3. Supporting personal statement – 30%
    4. Quality of (academic) references – 10%
    5. Other interests, (work) experiences, etc. – 10%

Benefits of Masters in International Law by Erasmus Mundus 2026

  1. The Erasmus Mundus scholarship is awarded for full-time enrolment, and will cover the entire duration of the programme (24 months). The scholarship will be a contribution to the costs incurred by the beneficiary students and shall cover travel, visa, installation and subsistence costs. The amount of the scholarship is 1.400,00 € per month. Scholarship recipient are exempt from tuition fees.
  2. Erasmus Mundus scholarships can be offered to students from any region of the world; however, as a general rule, no more than 10% of the overall scholarships available in the ILSPSD will be awarded to students with the same nationality (with the exception of students from targeted regions of the world). Moreover, as a general rule, no more than three scholarships will be awarded to students with the same nationality in the same intake under the same category.
